Makeup and Beauty Blog's Monday Poll

Hi Everyone,

I just finished reading Karen's (editor of makeup and beauty blog ) Monday poll entry and decided to post up my answers here. Btw, you guys should subscribe to her. Her reviews are awesome, and I love how she writes. If you decide that you want to do this poll. Go ahead to her website and add it on to the comment box below.  Or, if you want, you can write your response on this blog entry.

1. Mood:

Meh. Kind of sleepy.

2. Have you ever carved a jack-o-lantern?

Not really, but I would love to!

3. What scents are you wearing today?

BVLGARI BLVII  eau de parfum

4. Would you rather be too hot or too cold?

most definitely too cold. I cannot stand the heat

5. Adult Halloween costumes — cool or cheesy?

I think it depends on what kind of costume it is because I totally dig costumes. But if the costume is like Winnie the Pooh or something...lame.

6. A do-over for something you did or didn’t do?
I am not really sure I want to redo anything in my life right now. Redoing things in the past will not ensure that the good things in my life right now will remain the same.

7. Reality TV show appearance?

8. Three words that describe you on your best days?

Happy, Hyper, Loud

9. Three words that describe you on your worst days?

Surly, Serious, Cranky

10. Weekly goals:

Finish my homework and readings. And get a 100% on my weekly quiz

Review: MAC blush in Pink Swoon (the worst blush ever)

Hey guys,

I purchased a nice baby pink blush from MAC recently since I have been on a hunt for a baby pink blush. I have been so obsessed with pink cherubim cheeks like the juicy couture models featured in magazines but I never really did have any cheek color that is even close to the colors on their cheeks. I tend to purchase more of the mauve, coral and red colored blushes, and I shy away from the cooler pinks. I guess I just never felt like pink make up looks looked good on me. Especially now that I am a full fledged adult. Pink just is not the business anymore.

I did decide to break my norm and try out a nice baby pink blush. So I visited a local MAC store and consulted with the MA's. They applied this on me with a heavy hand, mind you and at first it actually looked kinda cute. So I purchased it together with an eyeliner. As you guys probably know already, MAC blushes retail for $18.00. It's a lot of money for most teenagers out there.

This looks a lot softer and less intense in person.

This color is just absolutely adorable. I think it would look best on very fair skin tones. Let me just emphasize the fact that this blush is a sheertone blush before any of you fall in love with the color. Based on the label, you should already know just what to expect from this blush. As I said earlier, the MA definitely applied this on me with a heavy hand. She probably did 5 thick layers of this thing on me. I mean I decided to get it because I do not mind applying it on several times, but what I did not expect was the little time it actually lasted on my skin.

I wake up very early in the morning between 5:30 to 6:00am. It is very unlikely that my blush did not last due to my excessive sweating because a.) it is cold in the morning and b.) I spend my day in a well ventilated classroom.

After the first hour, my cheek color is non existent which leaves me looking like a corpse. I am pale in the sense that I do not have a lot of color on my face. I don't blush and my lips are not a natural rosy color. Unless I apply some sort of tint to my face, I pretty much look like I have been starving myself to death.

Just to let you know my hand is so much darker than my face due to my hands' excessive sun exposure. My hand is about 1-2 shades darker than my face.

This is how it looks when it has been blended on to the skin. It is a very subtle effect especially on tanned skin

This color has no problem showing on my face because my face is lighter than my hand but the fact remains that this blush inadequate in producing a more intense and long lasting effect. Should I keep it? No! This little thing is going back where it came from. I would rather fork out extra money to get myself NARS Desire blush or Bobbi Brown's Pale Pink Blush.

Sorry MAC, you failed.

Quality: 1/10
Packaging: who cares if your product sucked.
Price: ridiculous for a blush that is worse than the $0.99 wet and wild blushes.

P.S I recommend just buying drugstore blushes. This blush is not even worth $0.99

So many things have happened! UPDATE!

Hi guys,

It has been such a long time since I posted a new blog entry. I have been very busy at school and other miscellaneous activities. But today I decided to update you guys on what is going on. Plus I have very exciting news to share with you all.

I celebrated my 21's birthday last month with my good friends in college. It was such a blast! I didn't have a big party, but being with my closest and dearest friends here definitely falsified the quote "the more, the merrier". In fact, we had such an amazing time that everyone was too busy to take pictures. Haha! Ok maybe that is an excuse as to why I do not have a lot of very impressing pictures. The pictures we have from my birthday were not very... hmmm, how should I put this... dignified. What I mean by that is that we played twister, 'nuff said. I honestly have never met anyone who look dignified while playing twister. Absolutely no one.

Anyway, this update is not about my birthday but about a recent flood of new items I have acquired. (This is not a haul but a preview of reviews to come.)

I received many amazing gifts. (Not all gifts/items purchased will be shown. This is not a haul.) This one is probably the best of them all. A NEW CAMERA! I now own Samsung HZ30W!!!!! I have to say that this camera rocks!
photo is from samsung website

Samsung HZ30W is a 12.2 Megapixel camera with 15x optical zoom!

Combined 24mm ultra wide-angle lens and 15x zoomOptimal image capture and viewingMore options when shooting with Manual ModeDual Image Stabilization corrects shakingSpecial effects like vignetting with Smart Filters

I really really love this camera. It is so easy to use, and very handy. I especially love the shooting options because I can take photos like a pro as easy as cooking microwave dinner. To prove it, here are some of the pictures I took with my camera:

I took this while I was walking by my neighborhood.
This is the eye of the person who gave me this camera. Look at how every single eyelash is emphasized.
etching on acrylic
Bike trail around my neighborhood

look at how amazing it is! It captured every fiber of my silk robe!

Took this from 15-20ft with zoom, and you can still read the writing especially when you zoom in.
I absolutely adore this camera! Honestly, I do get swayed easily by good looking products, and I would have never gotten myself a black camera since I prefer me the nice silver/chrome finishes of Sony cameras. But I am just so glad that I have this camera! This camera also features HD video recording. Watch out world, I might record an HD video soon. I have to say guys that this is totally worth its whopping $249.99 price tag.

So, a while ago I went shopping and got just a couple of things for myself, and I really wanted to share with you guys just a snapshot of some of the products I purchased. (Again, not every product purchased will be shown) I also just received a package from Singapore! You guys are going to love what you'll see inside. I know I did.

This is the package I received from Singapore. Which includes Shiseido Future Solution LX and other amazing items.

I am just so glad that I now have this Shiseido product because I am running out of my Elizabeth Arden toner!

From left to right: Lancome Hypnose Mascara, MAC Technakohl liner in graphblack, MAC Sheertone blush in Pink Swoon.

The reviews will be up soon, so please look forward to that! I hope you guys enjoyed the post.

Summer Vacay so far

Just want to share pics!

Yesterday I hung out with my friends from high school. I missed them so much, and it was really nice seeing them again. Me and my friend Rowland (shout out to you Row), woke up extra early to finally watch Toy Story 3. I have no idea why I didn't watch that movie earlier! It was so good! It definitely lived up to the hype. I am so amazed at how amazing Pixar is. I know that they always deliver, but I think that this is one of the best movies they made. It actually rivaled UP. Now, that is saying something.
Tried on 23" hairdo hair extensions by Jessica Simpson's Hairstylist Ken, I think.

After the movie, we met up with our other two friends Ives and Roseanne. But for the most part, we spent the day by twos. Me and Row together on a window shopping spree, and Roseanne and Ives together on a... I have no idea.

We ended the day early after meeting up with our other friend Warren. I wish it lasted longer, but everybody had other things to do and Ivory just wanted to stay at home. Oh well, maybe some other time!
