Women With No Dignity

Desperately Seeking Sugar Daddies | Culture | Vanity Fair

I came across this article through a twitter post and decided to share it with all of you. I realize that some people are less fortunate than others, but women should not sell themselves for anything. It is very indecent and very trashy. Besides, why would we, women, want to be used?

Women have fought for decades for rights to be equal to men. Our generation and the future generation should not be undoing what our ancestors have fought so hard for. By participating in this activity, selling/trading ourselves for materialistic gain, we are degrading ourselves and declaring ourselves to be unfit to get ahead in life. We are proving just how dependent we are on men. We are proving that we cannot be equal or be better than men.

I think that our generation needs a wake up call. Women who fought to work, vote and be treated as an equal would be ashamed. Our grandmothers, our great grandmothers and their mothers before that would have fought for decades just to have the rights we now have. And we throw that all away for money.

We are a generation of materialistic people. Girls, wake up! We can work and pay for our own things. We can work our way up. Do not debase yourselves just for a Prada bag that can be stolen. I think that our morality, pride and dignity is more important than a year of free rent and other useless junk. Wake up.

I want to close with the chorus of Whitney Houston's Greatest Love of All to remind us of something very important.

I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
